A joint episode of Jake the Snake: Web Comedian and Stevenpalooza!

Last year, when Steven decided he wanted to try tee-ball, they needed help with coaching. I love baseball, and even though I never actually was any good at it, I thought I’d give it a try. All in all, I think it went well. Steven seemed very happy to have his dad coach and it was very enjoyable from my POV, as well.
This year, I volunteered to be the lead coach so as to make sure that there was a team at all. all the stuff that has been added sucks. Paper work, parent contacts, fund raisers, lugging the equipment, etc., etc.
I’m still enjoying it.
Yesterday, Steven, Elizabeth, and I went out in the back yard to play catch and whatnot. Joey was there, too, in the pack-&-play, observing. Now, spent a portion of the time having to repeat myself to Steve, which exasperated me. Elizabeth had her little OCD moment where she insisted on some rigid rules for saying “Good job!” or “Good try!” and that was a little bit annoying. But standing out there in the yard showing them “alligator hands” and which hand goes on top when you hold a bat… It was as much like a father as I have ever felt. It was right up there with the day they were all born and along the same lines as (how I envision) the day I get to walk the girls down the aisle.
Wow. That was deep.
